Introduction to Shibori with Indigo Dye - 2027 Dates

A gentle, hands‑on introduction to Japanese textile techniques in Emi’s home studio.
This short workshop offers a quiet space to explore simple shibori using the instant indigo vat.

In this session, you will follow a simple shibori template and learn how to create patterns by hand‑stitching running stitches using a needle and cotton thread. After stitching, you will pull the threads to gather the fabric and then dye your piece in the indigo vat.
This workshop is designed for beginners as an introduction to shibori.
The fabric size is A4.

You will create a small piece to take home, and you may also see Emi’s Japanese Heritage indigo vat during the session.

The workshop runs from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

You can choose from the following dates:

Note

This workshop is booked per person.
Dates are fixed in advance, and up to six people can join each session.

Held at Emi Fujisawa Textile Studio, Church Street, Burton Latimer.

Just a little note that our two cats may be around during the workshop.

Once your booking is complete, we will be in touch within three working days to check which day you would like to attend and to confirm your date. Please ensure your contact details are correct when completing your reservation.

We will contact the person who booked first to fill the available spaces on their requested date. However, if your preferred date becomes full, we may ask you to choose an alternative date or, if possible, the same day at a different time, depending on booking numbers.
