Seasonal Shibori Workshop – 4 Seasons

£600.009 h

Emi Fujisawa Textile Studio at Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire

A deep, year‑long journey into Japanese shibori, learning a new technique each season.

This unique workshop series allows participants to explore shibori slowly and meaningfully throughout the year.
Each season focuses on one new shibori technique, taught in a full‑day session.
After completing the technique, participants return for a second session to dye their work in the indigo vat.

This creates a rhythm of learning → making → dyeing, aligned with the seasons.

Session 1 – Technique Day (Up to 6 hours)

You will learn one seasonal shibori technique in depth.
This first class is held on the first session of season on Saturday 16th January 2027,
with a small group of up to 4 participants.

You will prepare your cloth fully during this session.

Session 2 – Dyeing Day (1.5–2 hours)

Once your stitched or prepared piece is ready,
you will return to the studio to dye your work in the Japanese heritage indigo vat.
This second session is arranged individually with Emi.
